A bit about me

Hi I’m Aurea, a registered nutritional therapist and a chartered psychologist (BSc, MSc, CPsychol, Registered Occupational Psychologist, MBANT, CNHC Registered Nutritional Therapist).

I specialise in working with busy professionals who want to re-balance their lives and take steps to improve their health, energy and well-being.  I know the stress of balancing a demanding career with family life and not feeling in control of your own health and well-being.  I know all about wanting to make change but feeling pushed for time and unsure about what to do for the best.

I’m passionate about supporting people and I believe nutrition and lifestyle choices hold the key to feeling great, staying healthy and living a long and successful life.  Enjoying life is critical as well; I believe eating should be a pleasure not a minefield and no-one should go on a ‘diet’!  I work with my clients to understand their unique situation and create a tailored plan that meets their specific needs.

My Story

In my twenties I started corporate life as an occupational psychologist.  With years of demanding roles, lots of travel as well as family commitments I was tired, time poor and had little energy to look after myself.  I gradually put on weight and became unhappy with who I was starting to become - I knew something needed to change. Sound familiar?

A lifelong interest in nutrition led me to research available options.  A mixture of trial, error and tenacity led me to the solutions that worked for me and allowed me to regain control of my health and wellbeing.  Eventually I decided to study for an MSc in Nutritional Therapy as a way to combine my passion for coaching and psychology with my conviction about the power of lifestyle choices to empower people to optimise their health and perform at their best.

My approach is practical, evidence-based and takes into account the realities of a busy professional life.  What is unique about my approach is I use psychological coaching to both support and challenge my clients to follow their plan.  I help my clients to put all the latest nutritional science together with the skills and motivation to actually do it.  When you work with me it is your plan not mine! I just help you to focus on what you really want so you can achieve it.

I’m a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (CPsychol), and a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT).  I’m also registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Complementary & Healthcare Council (CNHC).
